JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing personal care, emotional support, assistance with activities of daily living, and basic therapeutic care to clients. Maintains records of patient care. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have ability to: - speak, read and write English - maintain neat and accurate records - relate well with families in the community - work well with all levels of staff - perform CPR (if trained to do so) Must have knowledge of: - normal nutrition and fluid intake, good health habits, and principles of good hygiene - normal growth and development - environmental hazards and good safety practices - factors that create stress and how behavior may reflect this LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Valid Nebraska Driver's license and the state required minimum automobile insurance coverage required. CPR required for Home Health Aides working in Medicare Certified programs, otherwise highly recommended. EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Must be at least 18 years of age. State approved Home Health Aide training or competency testing and Medication Aide training /competency testing prior to client care required. Prior completion of state approved Home Health Aide and Medication Aide training courses preferred. Experience as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant preferred.
