Role Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location Indianapolis, IN 46219
Duration 6+months (Possible Extension)
Pay Range $68- $72.88 /hr on W2 (All inclusive)
Join our Hardware Engineering team supporting diverse mission-critical DoD products, including ground, airborne, weapon systems, avionics, and more. You'll design new products and test hardware, improve existing designs, and support production and testing phases.
Key duties include 3D modeling, hands-on integration, leveraging COTS with custom hardware, vendor collaboration, and participating in design reviews (Peer Reviews, DFMA, PDR, CDR). You'll lead mechanical designs, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ideal candidates have strong mechanical engineering skills, excellent communication, thrive under pressure, enjoy on-site work, and are passionate about supporting DoD and international allies.
Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
  • Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility with an Integrated Product Team being hands on with hardware.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional work experience required.
  • Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred)
  • Working knowledge of data management systems (Windchill preferred)
  • Proficient in application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (ASME Y14.5 standards)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments
  • Performing trade studies
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills.
  • Must have strong teaming skills, and good communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Creative thinking and problem solving
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including traditional CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical assemblies, water jet, laser, welding, EDM, additive manufacturing, etc.
  • Understanding of aerospace materials and coatings

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program
